Children's Ministry
At Tonganoxie UMC, our Children's Ministry is a joyful space where kids discover God's love through engaging lessons, creative play, and authentic community. We are dedicated to inviting every child to know they are of sacred worth and growing together in a faith that lasts a lifetime. By connecting our youngest disciples with caring mentors and volunteers, we help them build a foundation of grace that empowers them to lead and serve.
Sunday School
Every Sunday morning, children begin their journey in the sanctuary for a special Children's Moment, where they hear a message of God's love tailored just for them. Following this time together, the kids transition to Sunday School to explore the wonders of the Bible through music, storytelling, and creative crafts. We dive deep into the life of Jesus, learning how to walk in His footsteps by being kind, compassionate, and bold in our love for others. It is a vibrant, joyful space where faith comes alive and our youngest disciples are empowered to grow. We invite every child to join us as we learn to live and lead like Jesus!
Other Activities
Beyond Sunday mornings, TUMC offers a vibrant calendar of events designed to help kids dive deeper into their faith and build lifelong friendships. From the foundational Bible 101 class for 3rd graders and the high-energy fun of Vacation Bible School to the joyful melodies of our Children's Choir, there are endless ways for kids to discover their God-given gifts. We celebrate every season with community traditions like our Blessing of the Backpacks, Back to School Swim Night, and the festive Spooktacular. Families also look forward to our annual Christmas program and easter Egg Hunt, where the wonder of Christ's love truly comes to life. At TUMC, we believe in make every moment an opportunity for children to connect, grow, and experience God's grace in action!
Vacation Bible School 2026: Running for the Prize
Lace up your sneakers for "Running for the Prize", a high-energy, sports-themed Vacation Bible School happening June 1-5 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM! Children ages 3-11 are invited to join us at TUMC for a free week of action-packed games, inspiring Bible stories, and creative crafts that bring the race of faith to life. This exciting program provides a welcoming environment where kids can discover the joy of Hebrews 12:1 and learn to run with endurance and heart.
